Heat

Urban districts all over the Netherlands are disconnecting from the gas grid as municipal authorities and members of the public look at alternative heat methods such as using heat pumps or drawing heat from a heating grid. More and more homes and businesses are using district heating, powered by heat from electricity production, domestic waste incineration and biomass. While this alone is considerably more sustainable than having central heating boilers in every home and business, our ambitions go beyond this. By 2035, we want all our customers to have 100% sustainable heating. We also want to convert more and more homes from gas to heat, working in partnership with municipal authorities, housing corporations and other market operators.
