Karen de Lathouder (1977) joined the Management Board in November 2023, taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer Assets (COO-A).
Karen worked in various roles at bp from 2017 to 2023, most recently as CEO of bp’s Dutch branch, with responsibility for all corporate operations in the Netherlands. Before that she was Vice President Refining Rotterdam. Prior to joining bp, Karen worked for Orpic, Akzo Nobel and Shell in various countries including Denmark, Germany and the UK.
Karen has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and an MBA from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
