Yasuyuki Asakura (1965) was appointed to the Management Board of Eneco as Chief Cooperation & International Officer (CCIO) on 1 May 2024.
Yasuyuki Asakura started his career at Mitsubishi Corporation in 1991 after receiving his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Waseda University. He held many executive positions within the company in a number of different countries: Japan, Indonesia and the United States.
Since April 2021 he has been the Senior Vice President, General Manager for Power Solution Group CEO Office and responsible for the business, investment and HR strategy of the Power Solution Group as the head of the strategic support organization. He is well experienced in overseas power projects, having been involved in IPP (Independ Power Producer) business development in Indonesia and Mexico in his early career, and having spent 10 years on secondment to DGC, the US power business development part of Mitsubishi Corporation, from 2005 to 2015, including 4 years as President. Finally, he was responsible for the acquisition of Eneco Groep N.V. as Division COO.
