We’re committed to fostering a culture that’s open, inclusive, and safe, where every team member is valued and empowered for their unique talents to contribute fully. Our approach celebrates the diversity of perspectives across gender, ethnicity, background, socioeconomic status, dissability and beyond. By including diverse perspectives, we strengthen our organizational resilience and agility to stay competitive in this rapidly evolving market.
By embedding DEI into every facet of our work, we’re advancing Eneco's mission of providing "Everyone's sustainable energy." Through inclusive teams, we can better serve diverse communities and contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future for all.
Advancing gender diversity at Eneco
At Eneco, we are dedicated to promoting gender diversity within our management teams. In 2024, we continued to make progress through targeted initiatives, including actively recruiting female candidates for key positions and conducting regular progress assessments through quarterly reviews. We are proud to maintain a 50% female representation at the Management Board level. An achievement we reached in 2023, ahead of original schedule. Additionally, we have made significant strides on the Supervisory Board, increasing female representation from 14% to 29%.
Despite our progress, we recognize that there is still work to be done. By the end of the financial year, gender balance at the sub-management level stood at 33%, falling short of our original 2024 target of 37%.
We are committed to learn from our experiences and refine our approach accordingly. Moving forward, we will implement a new strategy focused on strengthening our leadership pipeline, with a particular emphasis on advancing women into top executive roles.
Our DEI goals and benchmarks
At Eneco, transparency and accountability are at the core of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We continuously report on our progress and action plans to the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER), demonstrating our dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We work with Workplace Pride to support our ongoing efforts toward creating a more inclusive workplace for LGBTIQ+ employees. Through their Global Benchmark, we participate in a yearly assessment that helps us understand the current state of our inclusion policies and identify practical steps for improvement. This collaboration guides us as we continue to develop and strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
