Jan van der Velde

After working in the financial services and telecom sectors, Jan has accumulated 10 years of experience in the energy industry. Most recently, Jan has served as an M&A manager at Eneco, where he was responsible for executing a wide range of transactions, from customer portfolios to renewable asset projects, and from scale-ups to major market players. In this role, Jan has been involved with the Eneco Ventures team.

Jan also has a diverse educational background. During his academic years, he earned two Master's degrees in Business Administration from the University of Groningen. Throughout his professional life, he supplemented this with a Master's in Financial Law (Erasmus University) and a program that led to obtaining the Certified Management Accountant designation (Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam).

Driven by the desire to leave a healthy planet and a supportive society for his two children and their peers, Jan takes action within his means. Recently, he had a heat pump installed at home, strives to raise awareness in himself and his children about their impact on the environment, and takes pride in working at Eneco, contributing professionally to the energy transition.

In addition to spending time with his family, Jan enjoys music and attends concerts, engages in running when he feels like it, and takes a solo vacation once a year to let everything settle.
