If we want our planet to remain livable, we must do everything we can to combat current climate change. That is why we are now taking action together to reduce CO₂ emissions in the Netherlands as much as possible. Only then can we ensure that the average temperature on Earth does not continue to rise.

What we do
Since 2015, we have set out our sustainability goals in our One Planet Plan. The plan contains measurable objectives for climate, biodiversity, circularity and society. CO₂ emissions to net zero
We aim to be climate neutral as early as 2035—not only in our own activities, but also in the energy we supply to our customers. Sustainable energy consumption
To combat climate change, it is important to use energy in a smarter and more sustainable way. For example, in the Netherlands, we are switching from gas and other fossil fuels to sustainable alternatives, such as wind and solar energy, aquathermal energy or residual heat. More sustainable energy
To fully transition to sustainable energy, we must ensure that there is enough available for everyone. In the coming years, we will therefore focus heavily on clean energy sources such as wind and solar energy, sustainable heat, green hydrogen, and green gas. Balancing and optimising the energy grid
For the energy transition to succeed, we must ensure that the energy grid in the Netherlands does not become overloaded. This occurs when demand for energy exceeds or falls far below the supply of renewable energy. With renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, it is much harder to predict daily production, as it depends on the weather.
